Hadom Insurance & Coverage

Insurance & coverage – FAQ

What insurance coverage is included with my HADOM rental?
All HADOM vehicles are insured under a corporate policy in the State of Florida that meets the minimum legal requirements to operate the fleet. This policy primarily protects HADOM as the owner of the vehicle and may act as a secondary back-up in specific situations defined by law. It is not a “full coverage” personal policy for the renter.

How does my personal insurance apply when I rent with HADOM?
Under the rental agreement, in the event of an accident your own auto insurance (or that of any additional authorised driver) is considered the primary coverage for liability to third parties and personal protection, as long as your policy extends to rental vehicles. HADOM does not, by default, provide optional coverages such as uninsured/underinsured motorist or other enhanced protections beyond what is required by law.

Who is responsible for damage, loss or theft of the vehicle?
While the vehicle is under your rental, you are financially responsible for any damage, loss or theft of the car, as well as any associated costs (such as towing, storage, loss of use and administrative fees), as described in the rental agreement. In practice, if a loss occurs, the claim is first directed to your insurance policy; HADOM may submit a claim to your insurer and/or charge authorised amounts to your payment method.

Can I add my own policy or additional coverage for extra protection?
Yes, and we recommend that you review and, if needed, strengthen your protection before your trip. You can:

  • Use your existing S. auto insurance policy that covers rental cars, after confirming with your insurer which limits, deductibles and collision coverages apply.
  • Purchase additional insurance or travel coverage through your insurance company, travel agency or tour operator, making sure it explicitly includes liability and damage to rental vehicles in Florida.
  • Check whether your credit card offers any rental car insurance benefits (often limited to damage to the vehicle and subject to specific conditions).

Does this FAQ replace my policy or legal/insurance advice?
No. This is an operational summary to help you understand the general coverage framework while renting with HADOM. It does not modify the rental agreement or any insurance policy, and it is not legal or insurance advice. It is your responsibility to:

  • confirm with your insurer and/or card issuer which coverages are actually in force,
  • ensure that those coverages extend to rental vehicles in Florida, and
  • decide whether you need to purchase additional coverage before taking the vehicle.
